1 a celebration of the adventurer in all of us; 2 discovery of the lost art of solitude; 3 to pry oneself from the easy chair and move one step out of our comfort zone; 4 traveling alone exploring the unknown for at least two nights away from home preferably via foot or a 4 wheel drive vehicle.

Hi Tammie. This is great stuff. It's so rare to find anyone creating inspiring, quality writing on the internet these days. Do keep it up - I'm looking forward to more

I love you Tammie for you and your sense of style. I love that you cherish the moment and savor the prospect of what lies around the bend. You relish in the discovery and the promise of adventure. You view the world so grateful to be alive and thankful to share all that it offers. I hope to find the same solace that has touched your soul and lies within your words.

I, too, ride on the last wave. Because, I discover so much more left behind by those in a hurry to go on to the next without discovery. That's why you can't let it go, so much left behind to sift through and learn from. I love to learn from the casts off of others in their hurry, and I think you do also. Yes, it's catch-up but you are way ahead of the pack. Each of our journeys is a solo trip, and to share yours is a special treat.

I think your poem 'mattered that you were there' so that you could describe it to us...how beautiful your words were and are. Thank you for sharing the poem and the story behind it.
