The majority of my best photos have been taken on road trips – some within 50 miles of my house. Most were stumble-upons; moments I couldn’t have planned, or ever forget.
The sun is shining here for the first time in several weeks. Looking at these photos and watching the leaves tumble makes me smile. I hope these inspire you to hit the road this weekend!

I really like the b&w mountain shots. But I think my favorite shot of all is the grass hopper. Superb.

Aaron, the whale and some of the recent ones were taken with a Canon 5D. I bought it used last year and well, it’s something. Most of the B&W’s were taken with 35 mm film on a Nikon FM2. I love that camera.
Thank you everyone for your comments. These are some of my favorite captures in the past year or so.

Well, I wish we were “closer” to these sights. But living in Toronto means we get to go “driving” to Niagara Falls or Montreal. Hardly the stunning landscape of Midwestern America!

I grew up just a couple miles from the ol’ route 66 blue whale. Love your photos as always.

The colors are really nice in the ‘blue whale’ shot. “Badlands” casts a long shadow. We can’t wait to make it back to the West. Your photography captures the essence and eccentricity that is the Midwest.
